Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 26, 2026

Beatwire (“we”, “us”) is a personal news reader and AI publishing tool, available on the web and as apps for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it short and specific.

What we collect

  • Account information — your email address, and sign-in credentials, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your basic profile (name, email) from them.
  • Content you create — the sources you follow, feeds, saved stories, publications, and articles you generate or publish.
  • Usage data — basic, aggregate analytics about how the product is used (via Google Analytics), to improve it.
  • Device push tokens — if you enable notifications in the mobile app, a device token so we can send you breaking-story alerts.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use it

  • To provide the service — build your feed, generate articles, publish where you ask, and sync across your devices.
  • To send notifications you opt into (breaking stories, product updates).
  • To understand aggregate usage and improve the product.
  • To secure the service and prevent abuse.

Service providers

We share the minimum necessary data with providers that run Beatwire:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Supabase — database and storage for your content.
  • Vercel — hosting.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate usage analytics.
  • AI providers (such as Anthropic and OpenAI) — to generate the articles and summaries you request. Prompts and source text are sent to generate content; we don’t send them your account credentials.
  • Publishing destinations you connect (WordPress, Ghost, and others) — only the content you choose to publish, using credentials you provide.

AI-generated content

When you use AI features, the relevant text (headlines, source material, transcripts, your instructions) is sent to an AI provider to produce a draft. You review AI output before it is published; you are responsible for what you choose to publish.

Data retention

We keep your account and content while your account is active. You can delete a publication or your account, after which we delete the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with the law.

Your choices & rights

  • Access, correct, or delete your data — from in-app settings, or by emailing us.
  • Turn notifications on or off at any time on your device.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

Children

Beatwire is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

We use reputable providers and standard safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll change the date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app.
